The Maker Faire Man

I went to the Maker Faire this weekend. I didn't know what to expect when I got there.  I can't even begin to describe what I saw or experienced.  The fair was the strangest mix-match of people and exhibitions.

One "feature" I was surprised to see was an old fashioned carnival, Mister Gnogiurzauchshoff’s Traveling Midway of Curiosities and Delights.  It reminded me of an old western carnival that really was a delight to experience.  The games were fun and gave me a good laugh watching other players try their hand at the games. When I saw this guy (below), I knew I wanted a picture of him.  After a few minutes of awkward staring, I gathered up the courage to approach him and ask to take his picture.  He gave me this sort of expressionless expression, and I snapped a single picture of him because I knew I had captured exactly what I wanted.  After showing him his portrait, he gave me a small smile of approval.

I really love this portrait.
