Shutterfly x Our First Anniversary
Over the years I've sent holiday cards to family, friends and clients. It was always fun to send out the cards with festive greetings or updates from my travels. This year I wanted to celebrate Lance & my first anniversary since it's so close to Christmas. So I partnered with Shutterfly and created these fun holiday cards to send to our friends and family.
Shutterfly makes it really easy to make these cards. I looked through their different designs and favorited my favorites. From there I chose the Contemporary Christmas Christmas Card with scalloped edges. It was really easy to make the template mine. On the front all I did was add a picture from our wedding day and switch the text on the top to say "The Hands". Even after 11 months, we still haven't sent out our wedding pictures, so I thought it'd be nice to include that picture to celebrate our first anniversary as well as Christmas.
Because we live away from most of our friends and family, I wrote a little bit about what we'd been up to in the past year. I also included some candid pictures from when we went pumpkin picking in the fall and hiking in Chattanooga in the spring to contrast the formality of our wedding picture on the front. When you're designing the back of your card, Shutterfly offers a lot of different layout options. There's different combinations of text and images depending on what layout you like, how much text you want or how many images you wanted to include. I opted to do something fairly simple.
Being away from loved ones and keeping in touch is hard sometimes. But connecting over phone calls or little notes or a quick text or email really fills in the gaps when I miss them. So I've always really loved receiving Christmas cards from our friends and family and seeing how their families have grown. This year as the holidays are approaching I'm so happy Lance and I have this opportunity to send these Christmas cards and share how happily married we are in Birmingham.
